5 Easy and Natural Face Masks for Different Skin Types

Knowing your skin type is absolutely necessary in order to choose right products for your skincare routine. Generally, we can find out five basic skin types: normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive. Each has particular characteristics and requiring specific care and treatment.

Festive season is coming in the month of October in India. Every girl wants to have a glowing and healthy skin on those days. Here are five easy and natural face masks for five different skin types.

  1. Normal Skin

You are blessed if you have normal skin type. This skin type is neither too dry nor too oily, with no severe sensitivity, small skin pores and a bright complexion. Face Packs for This type of skin will be smooth, bit dry and will be a pimple free face. It is a good type of skin.

Milk, Almond and Aloe Vera Face Mask for normal:

Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • Aloe Vera
  • Honey
  • Almond

Procedure:

Take 2 tablespoons of milk in a bowl and add 1 teaspoon each of almonds paste, pure aloe vera gel and honey to it, mix well and apply it on clean face. Wait for 30 minutes and wash off with water.

Milk is the best natural moisturizer that nourishes and smooths the skin. This face pack contains the goodness of milk along with almonds, aloe vera and honey – all of which are extremely beneficial for providing clear glowing skin.

 

  1. Oily Skin

This skin type is characterized by over-active sebaceous glands and enlarged pores that lead to excessive oil production. Oily skin is more susceptible to acne, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and other blemishes.

Tomato, Cucumber and Honey Face Pack:

Ingredients:

  • Tomato
  • Cucumber
  • Honey

Procedure:

Extract the juice of cucumber and tomatoes and mix 1 tablespoon of each in a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of honey to it, mix well and apply on clean face, wait for 30 minutes and wash off with water.

If your skin is very oily you can add a tablespoon of lemon juice also along with the mixture.

The use of tomato as natural bleach and cucumbers for dark circles are well known. Tomatoes help in reducing the excess oil and sebum from the skin surface and shrinking the size of the open pores, thus, making it one of the best ingredients for treating oily skin. Cucumber juice helps in rejuvenating skin and enhancing the complexion.

 

  1. Dry Skin

This skin type is marked by lack of moisture in the topmost layer of the skin that results in tightness and in severe cases even flaking. Dry skin appears dull and lifeless with accentuated wrinkles and fine lines. Applying this natural face pack for dry skin will certainly reduce the effect of wrinkles and moisturize the skin naturally.

Yogurt and Rose Face Pack:

Ingredients:

  • Yogurt
  • Honey
  • Rose water

Procedure:

Mix 2 tablespoon of yogurt with a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of rose water, mix well and apply on clean face, wait for 30 minutes and wash off with water.

If you have very dry skin add a tablespoon of coconut oil or olive oil to this pack.

Yogurt is a deep nourishing natural moisturizer that smooths and moisturizes dry skin effectively. The lactic acid present in yogurt soothes dry and rough skin and prevents premature skin aging. It helps in dissolving the dead skin cells and reduces the dullness of the skin.

 

  1. Combination Skin

This skin type is a combination of oily and dry skin, some parts of the face i.e. ‘T-zone’ like forehead, nose and chin is oily whereas the skin around the eyes and cheeks are dry. Therefore, the dry parts and oily parts require different skin care.

Papaya and Honey Face Pack:

Ingredients:

  • Ripped papaya
  • Honey

Procedure:

Take a few cubes of ripe papaya and mash them to form a smooth paste, add 1 teaspoon of honey to it, mix well and apply the pack on clean skin, wait for 15 to 30 minutes and wash thoroughly with water.

The healthy enzymes present in papaya helps in treating various skin problems and also reduces hyper-pigmentation. Ripe papaya helps in nourishing and hydrating the skin without making it excessively oily.

 

  1. Sensitive Skin

This is not a skin type, rather symptoms that are the result of various factors. Skin is described to be sensitive if it shows frequent signs like redness, itching, inflammation, burning or dryness due to topical application of any skin care product. It’s always suggestible to use light, soft products for this skin type.

Aloe Vera and Cucumber Face Pack:

Ingredients:

  • Aloe vera gel
  • Cucumber

Procedure:

Mix 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel with 1 tablespoon of grated cucumber and apply the pack evenly on clean face. Wait for 15 to 20 minutes and wash off with water.

The benefits of aloe vera are numerous. Aloe vera is a natural moisturizer that is useful for both skin and hair. It helps in hydrating the skin and fighting with skin irritation, rashes, acne and pimples. Aloe vera helps in soothing sensitive skin. Cucumber helps in revitalizing and rejuvenating the skin and improving complexion considerably.

    1. Thank you Isabella for asking me the question. You can try a simple trick to know whether you have oily or combination skin. All you have to do is wash your face with the face wash before go to sleep. don’t apply any thing on your face. After that when you wake up in the morning look into mirror. If your full face looks oily then you have oily skin. If only T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) looks oily then you have combination skin.
